OVER THE WINTERTIME WHEN THE HABROR LANDEYJAHOFN IS CLOSED THE FERRY SAILS TO THE HARBOR THORLAKSHOFN (ÞORLÁKSHÖFN)

If the ferry is not able to sail to Landeyjahöfn the ferry will sail to Þorlákshöfn. The sailing time is, 2 hr 45 minutes.

Passengers that are booked to/from Landeyjahöfn 08:30/12:45 will automatically be transferred to/from Þorlákshöfn 08:30/11:45.

Passengers that are booked to/from Landeyjahöfn 16:00/19:45 will automatically be transferred to/from Þorlákshöfn 16:00/19:15.

Passengers are kindly asked to arrive no later than 30 minutes before the vessel's departure, regardless if traveling with a vehicle or on foot. Please have boarding passes ready when boarding.

When Herjólfur's scheduled journeys to Landeyjahöfn are canceled, passengers with reservations have to bear a few things in mind. Below are the guidelines for such instances.
• During the winter schedule, journeys that are scheduled at 08:30 and 16:00 from the Westman Islands and 12:45 and 19:45 from Landeyjahöfn are transferred automatically to Þorlákshöfn if the ferry sails to Þorlákshöfn and Landeyjahöfn is closed. Other journeys are not transferred, so passengers have to re-book their journeys at Herjólfur's service points. Herjólfur's telephone system is usually quite busy when journeys are canceled, so the email herjolfur@herjolfur.is can also be used.
• It is not given that passengers with tickets for canceled journeys are transferred to the next available journey, since a portion of that journey's capacity may already be booked.
• It is possible that when Herjólfur's journeys are canceled that passengers are not able to take their vehicles with them on the next possible journey, for the same reason as above.
